Welcome to Watchlist! The series where I recommend one piece of media to view each week. The media will fit the seasons of the Western world and the contemporary times we’re living in.
In today’s first episode, I want to recommend something I’ve been watching with my bestie: Gravity Falls.
If you were not born in the early 2000s, you probably missed Gravity Falls as it was airing on Disney, it’s okay, I’ll catch you up.
Gravity Falls is an animated 2 season series about two 12-year-old twins who spend their summer in Gravity Falls, an imaginary town in the middle of nowhere, where their uncle lives. Mysteries start to unravel right in the first episode as Dipper, one of the twins, discovers a book filled with magical creatures lurking around town.
While the first season focuses on monster-of-the-week mysteries, the end of season 1 will have your blood pumping and reaching new highs as the true villain of the show is revealed, mysteries about the books are uncovered, and another bigger mystery about the twins’ uncle is afoot.
This show may take place during the summer but the vibe is all autumnal. You can feel the cold air and the crunching leaves under every step the characters take.
I haven’t finished the show yet, I’m in the middle of the second and last season and I’m holding my pearls and have so many questions. While this show is made for children with children at the forefront, it doesn’t feel childish. Take it from me, I hate Disney films and children, and yet I love Gravity Falls.
I also think it’s the perfect escapism for the current predicament we find ourselves in politically. So if you need to not think about how the world is burning, put on Disney+ and watch Gravity Falls.
for lovers of: Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Supernatural, Charmed, Rick & Morty, Dirk Gently.

Yes they were always on a loop. It's such a good memory that I'm fond of. They never did, always leaving us curious🤣 you're welcome !!
I grew up watching gravity falls. It's literally part of my childhood. We had rotations growing up. Each person would take turns watching what they liked, so that meant me and my brother would binge because we had the same taste in animated movies. It really is a good recommendation.!!
